Meet Monique Luck

with Monique Luck Art LLC

Soulful figures textured with emotion emerge, revealing colorful, lyrical stories moving fluidly across canvas. Luck models the features of figures and natural forms using fragments of found paper. “The emotion in my work comes directly from the emotions I experience in life,” she explains. “As I assemble a collage, I often wish I could rearrange pieces of my life as I do pieces of colored paper. Each day I am reminded that life choices are not as easily moved.” Luck is an award winning artist & muralist with a focus on community and public artworks. She has exhibited her work frequently at galleries & museums across the US including: The African American Museum of Dallas, The South Carolina State Museum, the Heinz History Center Museum, The August Wilson Center in Pittsburgh, The Kunst am Spreeknie at Novilla Berlin, Germany, Harvey B. Gantt Center & Levine Museum of the New South in Charlotte, NC. Monique’s work as a public muralist with the Sprout Fund is featured in the PBS Documentary, “It’s the Neighborhoods.” Monique recently completed a pivotal public art installation for the city of Asheville, NC through a collaboration with local artists and community members for the Celebrating African Americans Through Public Art Project. Her most recent public art installations are in located in the Druid Hills Charlotte NC and Frontier Research Triangle Park in Durham, NC.
